DAVID WILLIAM PARRY
CREDENTIALS
David is an international speaker and author of over 60 publications and 4 books including the much admired Caliban's Redemption (2004), The Grammar of Witchcraft (2009), Mount Athos Inside Me (2019), and the anarchic Women in Mayhem (2024).
Previously, he was creative director at a multi-media theatre company, Gruntlers Cabaret (which later evolved into Theo-Humanist Arts).
Relatedly, David was first chairperson of Eurasian Creative Guild, a non-profit organisation building networks between Eurasian artists, writers, poets, musicians, and filmmakers.
Latterly, David co-founded and co-hosted the pioneering podcast THA Talks, a project that was loosely linked with his work as co-founder and curator of two highly controversial and groundbreaking debating societies, Extremists Club and Free Speech Club.
AWARDS AND HONOURS
David is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). He was made a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society (FRAS) in 2020, and elected a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute (FRAI) in 2024.
David is an Honorary Ambassador for International Multicultural Network, and was awarded a gold medal in Almaty, Kazakhstan, for "services to developing theatre" from their State Arts Council.
Most notably, David has been added to the LGBTQ Religious Archives Network as a religious leader and prominent activist in the United Kingdom.
THE CALL OF SACRED THEATRE
David's works in global theatre and literature has involved a passionate interaction with Azerbaijan and a life-long obsession for the cultures of Central Asia. Each facilitating a number of sponsorships from the Embassy of The Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Kingdom, and more immediately the Hermes Trust.
He is currently undertaking a doctorate by portfolio at the University of South Wales (USW) regarding sacred theatre.
His personal motto is “honi soit qui mal y pense”.
